Topic 1: Archiving a File Just a more in depth tutorial that does everything from the beginning. From having a file to releasing the file. There will be some links to old tutorials that are still up to date. Changes will be made on all tutorials when something is changed. To ensure the change, if there is one, reply what the change is if it hasn't been changed yet.
Topic 1: Archiving a File First you will need a version of
Winrar. The following screen shots should make it more easier to understand. Descriptions of each screen shot will posted below each one. Each part does not have to be used. Some can be skipped.
1: Making a folder for the File This can be skipped but its nice to have to keep all your files together.
You should know how to make a folder. All you do is right click in a white space, find and highlight "NEW", then find "Folder". It's also smart to rename the folder to what the file is. However, be cautious. Since most file host are somewhat cracking down they are checking file names. It's best to rename some letters into numbers or symbols. Example: South Park Bigger Longer & Uncut (1999) <-- Original name
50uth P
4rk
8!gg
3r L
0ng
3r & Uncut (
!999) <-- Changed name
Bold characters are changes. You can leave the original file the original name unless you are only uploading the file and not the folder.
2: Insert your File and if you want a URL shortcut Basically just drag your file into the folder you have just made. If you want to know how to make a URL shortcut view below.
Right click in a white space. Highlight "New" then highlight "Shortcut"
Paste in the shortcut you wish to use. Your Referrer URL It should start with http://forum.poizonx.com/index.php?referrerid= and then the last part is your member number.
Name your shortcut and then click "Finish" to create.
This is what your Final product should look like if you have followed everything step by step so far. Yours can be different weather if you want to put everything in. Topic 2: Uploading the Archived File Topic 2: Uploading the Archived File This part can work for both a single file or a folder. Descriptions are below the screen shots.
Right click the folder/file you wish to upload. Then highlight and click "Add to Archive...".
100 MBs = 104,857,600 bytes. RS uses 100 MBs as their limit so max the limit. Don't try to get an extra RS point for making a 700MB file 8 parts. Cuz chances are that you will only have Premium users downloading those files.
This part can be skipped if you wish not to insert a password on your file/folder.
After clicking on the Advance tab you should see whats above. Click on the "Set Password..." button. It will bring up a new window as shown on the right. This is were you can enter in a password. It would be nice if you set your password to something like these: zipile.com ; Zipile.com ; or ZiPiLE.com . This will help in free advertisements on other sites. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE ZIPILE AS THE PASSWORD. Its your file so you can do whatever.
This is how your final product should look like weather you have archived one file or a folder. Notice the 7 parts with a 700 MB file. Topic 3: Uploading the Archived files Topic 3: Uploading the Archived files First we will setup Rapidupl0ader so that you can up easier. Then I will show you how simple it can be to UL some files.
1: Configuring RSULer For this i will be using
Rapid Uploader 1.2 since it is the newest version.
Enter in your account information. Be sure to click were to finalize.
Highlight...drag.. and drop your archive files into RSULer. Files will start ULing automatically. Once the ULs are complete you will see the links in your RS folder.
