| Italians mull over Livi purchase Livingston have held talks with an Italian consortium who wants to buy the First Division club.
The group are believed to have a budget of about £1m to spend on players in a drive to gain promotion to the SPL.
The Italians have identified a senior Scottish football figure who would oversee their investment and run the Almondvale club.
The consortium would use Livingston in a feeder club role where Italian players and others would be showcased.
Livingston owner Pearse Flynn confirmed to BBC Sport last week that several parties were interested in investing in the club.
This latest proposal from the Italian group is believed to value the club at more than the £600,000 proposed last week by businessman Eddie Ramsay.
Ramsay held talks with Flynn about a takeover which included the possibility of bringing dog racing to Almondvale.
Flynn also confirmed to BBC Sport that he was examining the possibility of buying the stadium from the council or moving to new stadium within Livingston.
The First Division outfit are currently in seventh spot in the table, with 29 points from 27 games.
