| We want the Co-op Insurance Cup after Hampden heartache, vows Dundee United's Lee LEE WILKIE is desperate to reach another final because he has unfinished business at Hampden.
The Dundee United defender is targeting a return to the National Stadium to wipe out the memory of last season's Cup Final defeat to Rangers.
United looked set for victory thanks to Noel Hunt's 33rdminute goal but in the dying moments a short backpass by Mark Kerr allowed Kris Boyd to equalise.
United went back in front in extra time through Mark de Vries but couldn't hold on, with Boyd scoring again before Gers won on penalties.
Wilkie, who missed in the shoot-out, admits there is a huge desire among the United players to get their hands on the trophy.
And the death of club chairman Eddie Thompson two weeks ago is an added incentive.
Wilkie, who is trying to shake off a calf strain ahead of tonight's last-eight clash with Dunfermline, said: "The way we lost the Final last season was hard to take but it's made us even more determined to get back to Hampden.
"After everything that's happened over the last couple of weeks it would be great to get to the Final again. We won't underestimate Dunfermline because they are a good side but we're on a good run and have loads of confidence."
Wilkie is well aware the Pars have a side packed with top-flight experience and in Greg Shields and Scott Wilson have two of the most talented players in the First Division. Another familiar face will be striker Graham Bayne, Wilkie's former team-mate at Dundee.
The United defender said: "Graham is definitely one we'll have to watch. His scoring record is superb. Dunfermline have a lot of quality players and will come here with plenty of confidence."
United boss Craig Levein also has plenty of respect for tonight's opponents.
He said: "They have a lot of guys who have played in the SPL or higher, such as Bayne, Andy Kirk, Kevin Harper, Stephen Glass, Paul Gallacher and Greg Shields. They have a Premier League look about them."
Levein expects defender Darren Dods to be fit, despite having stitches in a head wound against St Mirren on Saturday.
The centre-half has resumed training and the boss said: "We reckon it should have healed enough for him to play."
